MINNA LIVES FOR NATURE AND ADVENTURE

Minna Leväinen, the Destination Manager of Bomba Safaris, thrives on adventuring in nature. At Bomba, she is particularly enchanted by the rugged hill landscapes, which she loves to admire from either a fat bike or a paddleboard.

Minna, who studied to become a Bachelor of Business Administration and a fitness instructor, worked in the banking sector for about ten years. Then her passion led her towards fitness, hiking, and tourism.

"I moved to Bomba from Savo, where I gained work experience in various tourism companies and roles," says Leväinen.

"My current job as the head of safari services at Bomba is truly a dream job for me. I get to do everything I know and love, from marketing to being a wilderness guide. The diversity of the job fuels me; it's nice to jump from the computer to snowshoes, and after campfire coffee, I’m ready to delve into marketing plans," Minna notes enthusiastically.

"The best moments in my job are when I get to be in nature with a group. We go into the forest and light a fire. The joy and excitement on the customers' faces are inspiring. And it's great to create safe nature adventures for visitors from afar. Adventures that everyone can enjoy."

Charmed by the Hill Landscapes

Minna has hiked extensively in the national parks around Nurmes, such as Tiilikkajärvi, Hiidenportti, and Koli. "The nature of North Karelia is stunning. The hill landscape here is the main attraction—beautiful, rugged, and diverse. And Pielinen is large and inviting, truly unique," Minna praises.

"At Bomba Safaris, we offer a wide range of adventures and experiences to explore the region's nature and traditional landscapes. One of the most fun is a Coopop ride to Puu-Nurmes or to the hilltops. When I go hiking here on my own, I prefer to hop on a fat bike and zip through the forest trails, or grab a board and paddle on Pielinen."

Keeping Active Even in Leisure

Minna has been active in nature from a young age and has tried almost every possible activity. There's hardly a sport this energetic woman hasn't attempted. She played floorball competitively in her youth and later coached young players in the same sport.

"I also enjoy wilderness cooking and cooking in general. We just set up our own chicken coop at home, so we'll be enjoying organic eggs in the future," Minna shares.

In addition to outdoor activities and wilderness hiking, Minna is passionate about woodworking and furniture restoration. A larger project awaits at her recently purchased home in Kuopio: the renovation of a large log house.
